Question

edit

How can a tryptych be divided between four museums? Rmhermen 16:59, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

One of the side panels has been cut into two - the figure and a "still-life" above. I think this is the left one - Isaiah, with ? the still-life in Antwerp & the figure in Rotterdam. Johnbod 17:51, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Citation changes?

edit

This edit changes the cite style. According to WP:CITEVAR citation changes require consensus. I have this watchlisted and I've spent money on and downloaded sources for Netherlandish miniature painters - was preparing to get to this set of article shortly. I'd prefer not to work with templates. According to WP:CITEVAR editors should defer to the first major contributor. I'm assuming from the contribs that's Johnbod. Opinions? I've reverted your 2nd thoughts removal of this, and will revert the changes. I've come to take a hard line on cite-banditry like this; I'm now prevented from working more on other articles of mine because I'd didn't spot a change of cite style before it was too late. If whoever did it feels like whining about this, I suggest you read Talk:Ancient Roman pottery and Talk:Burford Methodist Church first. Johnbod (talk) 02:32, 18 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Johnbod, I was thinking about re-reverting myself. I do have sources I've downloaded on these painters and am hoping to add to some of these pages - though this is in nice shape. There's really no reason at all to change the citation style. Truthkeeper (talk) 02:36, 18 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Actually I can't now see when the changes were made, so where to revert to. Can you spot it? But most of the refs were originally done by me in meat & potatos style & can be retrieved from the history. Feel very free to go back to that - I have it watchlisted. Johnbod (talk) 02:41, 18 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
It's this edit with the cite templates added and a template to format a note. Probably better for you to take care of it w/ a copy/paste or maybe it can be undone. I don't think the page has been edited since. Truthkeeper (talk) 02:45, 18 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Ok, done that, but other unauthorised cite templates were added earlier as well. The sf ones are especially objectionable. Johnbod (talk) 02:51, 18 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
They are. I can look - she edited minutes after I'd edited so I noticed the most recent edit because it popped right up on my watchlist. Truthkeeper (talk) 02:56, 18 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
That's very odd - before this edit there aren't any cite templates and then after there are but I don't see them being added in these diffs. But that's were it had to have happened. Truthkeeper (talk) 03:03, 18 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
The one at note 2 goes back to 2009 at least. Johnbod (talk) 14:58, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
