Reversion to remove vandalism
editReverted to 19:25 January 2007 entry by FrummerThanThou to remove vandalism by 19:32 16 January Xxtonytheliger. Perhaps we need to get a lock on this page? --Coridan
His children
editAre there any references anyone can find that list his children? (figure its worth mentioning in his article). I know he had at least 2. --Narson 01:11, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
The names of his brothers should be listed on this page.
Relation to Saddam
editIn what way was he Saddam's half-brother? Did they share a mother or a father? This should be mentioned in the article. --Saforrest 01:21, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- The article says uterine brother, that means they have the same mother. But then it says father's side. What's right then? I guess they are uterine brothers (*mother*'s side).--dalegrett 00:01, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
- I'm trying to figure it out. I found an article that says his wife is the sister of Saddam's first wife, but I don't think that makes him a half-brother... I'll try to dig it up. DoomsDay349 01:30, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- Barzan & Saddam have the same mother. Saddam's mother remarried (Saddam's father walked out on his family, never to be heard of again). See Saddam Hussein for more information. GoodDay 19:09, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- Execuse me, Saddam's father didn't walk out on his family, he simply disappeared, was never found. GoodDay 19:14, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- Barzan & Saddam have the same mother. Saddam's mother remarried (Saddam's father walked out on his family, never to be heard of again). See Saddam Hussein for more information. GoodDay 19:09, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Decapitation
editDoes anyone have an explanation as to how someone would lose their head during a hanging? Has this happened to anyone before? Hanako 01:32, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, see the article on hanging. SBHarris 01:40, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- Also, it might have something to do with the spinal cancer mentioned elsewhere in this article. --CannedLizard 01:44, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- It has happened before; his old buddy Saddam used to do it all the time to folks. Imagine, basically, that gravity constantly pulls the object down, and in order to get down, the rope has to pass through. After enough of this, the rope just slides on through, and well...off comes the head. DoomsDay349 01:45, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
This is very well explained by CNN´s John Burns, see video on [1]--AlexSuricata 17:26, 16 January 2007 (UTC) Basically it means the executioner screwed up Nil Einne 11:14, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Video
editI heard there was a video released. Unless it's illegal, shouldn't we show it, as a neutral source of information? DoomsDay349 01:33, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- Wouldn't it be against TOS? Hanako 03:58, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- Uhh...maybe, what does TOS mean :) DoomsDay349 21:49, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- Wikipedia's Terms of Service :) Hanako 12:01, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
- Wikipedia doesn't censor graphical material. ► Adriaan90 ( Talk ♥ Contribs ) ♪♫ 15:09, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
- Really, where is the video? Is there a link? It should be available here.
--12.152.10.63 17:03, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
- This was tried with the hussein video aswell, however, since we don't know if it's real or not, we should not include it.
Material removed
editI have removed two pieces of information as they are unsourced. Though Barzan is now dead, WP:BIO should still apply. --Ta bu shi da yu 22:01, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Same names, different links
edithttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barzan_al-Tikriti Somebody move into full name link, one link needed only.
- Sorry I'm confused. What do you want? Nil Einne 11:13, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Made up none sense
editIs this made up by someone:
"the rope was too inelastic, and the drop was miscalculated by the executioner, among other variables"
If no, please add sources to verify the information, otherwise it will be removed.

- These are the common reasons for decapitation in hanging, and the man was dropped 8 feet. That's a LONG way. How about if he'd been dropped 10 or 20 feet? Could we keep the comments then? At what point do you begin to use common sense? SBHarris 12:06, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
"He was being treated for spinal cancer, which may have contributed to his decapitation." I have removed this statement. None of the four sources cited for that section stated anything of the sort. See WP:OR. We are not in the business of speculation. The above anon IP is entirely correct, we verify our facts by citing reliable source, not by invoking our "common sense". -- IslaySolomon | talk 11:46, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
Playing cards...?
editThe image at the right seems a bit inappropriate in the wake of this man's death, not to mention his peers'. Perhaps it should be deleted. 69.234.204.87 09:50, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't add the image, but i think it was from the game; 'America's most wanted.' Not sure though.

Crime convictions
editHe's listed in Category:People executed for murder, but the body of the article says that he was executed for crimes against humanity. Should he be recategorized to something like Category:People executed for crimes against humanity? Andjam (talk) 08:54, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
