War
editI think this and other mma pages are great. But in the paragraph UFC i thought it was weird calling those fights wars. It's suddenly a journalist coloring kind of description, which looks strange in the article and wikipedia. I left it out, i think people can judge for themselves that these fights are tough. If you don't agree add it more descriptive/objective --Biggiesmartypants 09:34, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
YouTube links
editThis article is one of thousands on Wikipedia that have a link to YouTube in it. Based on the External links policy, most of these should probably be removed. I'm putting this message here, on this talk page, to request the regular editors take a look at the link and make sure it doesn't violate policy. In short: 1. 99% of the time YouTube should not be used as a source. 2. We must not link to material that violates someones copyright. If you are not sure if the link on this article should be removed or you would like to help spread this message contact us on this page. Thanks, ---J.S (t|c) 03:39, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:EliminatorRutten.jpg
editImage:EliminatorRutten.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Ruptured liver DeLucia
editMaybe the article should mention that Rutten ruptured Jason Delucia's liver. --82.170.113.123 (talk) 03:10, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt DeLucia?
editCan this be verified. I really doubt DeLucia was a BJJ Black Belt in 1994. He was billed as a Kung Fu fighter in UFC 1 in 1993. I don't even know if he ever became a BJJ Black Belt.Halconen (talk) 01:58, 5 February 2018 (UTC)

Did Mr. Rutten write this article himself?
editThere is a significant amount of highly questionable content within this article - many lines of text were quite obviously written by either Mr. Rutten, or promoters on his behalf. The following are just a few of the numerous passages which fail to conform to the standards of Wikipedia:
"The most famous aspect of his striking, however, was his scientific skill to target the opponent's liver..."
"He picked it up very quickly and after a few months he got in a street fight with the biggest bully in town. Rutten, now more confident, took the challenge and broke the bully's nose and KO'd him with the first punch he threw."
"Rutten's main reason of success in Pancrase was his well-rounded fighting style, excelling both in striking and grappling."
I'd like to hear others opinions on this matter. I believe we can easily reach a consensus on the dubious nature of the page as currently written.
He's not "Dutch," he's "Brabants."
editSomeone is Dutch if they're from the provinces of Holland. Since he was born in Tilburg in the province of Noord (North) Brabant, that means that he would not be described by the adjective 'Dutch'. He would instead be described by the adjective 'Brabants'. In English we might say 'Brabantish' or 'Brabantian'. 2001:569:7CC6:EC00:C884:FB97:E96F:C5C0 (talk) 05:09, 17 November 2017 (UTC)
