I would like to make changes to the knowledge panel on the right side of the page. Among other items, I would like to add updated 2018 SAT and ACT scores. The scores are published by the College Board and ACT, respectively, and verifiable to schools and students via the publisher, but not publicly available. In my research, I have found that other schools handle this issue by citing their own website as a verification source on Wikipedia. Is that sufficient? Should I submit an edit request template? That would seem to violate the policy at Wikipedia:Verifiability and guideline at Wikipedia:Reliable sources. The school's website is not acceptable as a reliable source for information from other entities, and the scores are not published (made available to the public) by SAT and ACT. The fact that other schools have done this does not make it right, and, in my opinion, such citations should be removed. - Donald Albury 18:26, 16 November 2018 (UTC)

Is it necessary to have an article page for each school, since there are not many discriminating factors, other than location, mascot, grades, and scores. Alice, please give every new discussion a header, even if it is the first one on the page. As the number of discussions, reaches three, the software will automatically create a table of contents, but a section at the top without a header will be treated as an introduction and not added to the TOC. For clarity, the box at the top right of an article is called an infobox. This avoids confusion with the similar thing Google produces (which usually pulls its data from us) which they call a knowledge box.

On the subject of articles on the particular schools, if they are diploma granting schools, they likely should have their own articles. If they are not, they likely shouldn't. John from Idegon (talk) 00:10, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

I would like to re-request having the Infobox on this page updated to accurately reflect the grades served as 4-12. Is it alright to use the school website for general info such as the grades? Branding

It appears to me that Basis Curriculum Schools is a branding concept that covers both charter (Basis Schools) and for-profit schools (Basis Educational Group). Pressing to use this as the article title appears to me to be promotional. Collapsing all the Basis articles to one or two would not break my heart. The article could, for instance, be called "Basis schools" (note lower-case "s"), so it's about the commonality of schools which use a particular curriculum, and not about the organization per se. Beyond My Ken (talk) 01:23, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

(I am happy to provide citations for all info once there is consensus on which article titles to include) --- BASIS Curriculum Schools refers to the worldwide network of 37 BASIS schools that use the BASIS Curriculum and model, and includes BASIS Charter Schools, BASIS International Schools, and BASIS Independent Schools. BASIS Charter Schools comprise 27 charter schools, including all BASIS Charter Schools in Arizona, as well as BTX Schools in Texas, BBR Schools in Louisiana, and BASIS DC in the District of Columbia. BASIS Charter Schools are managed by the Educational Management Organization (EMO) BASIS Educational Group, (styled as BASIS.ed). I think simplicity and accuracy is what we're going for. It seems the most logical breakdown of article titles would be either 3-4 articles, each covering one entity (1. BASIS Charter Schools, 2. BASIS International Schools, 3. BASIS Independent Schools, and 4. if desired, the broader umbrella of BASIS Curriculum Schools); or one article entitled BASIS Curriculum Schools and multiple potential individual school articles (diploma-issuing secondary schools).Alice Angstrom (talk) 18:25, 28 November 2018 (UTC)

Hello Alice Angstrom, this is not for me. Let's go back to first principles. Wikipedia is intended to deliver general knowledge to a general audience. It relies on second- and third-party sources primarily. It is not Hoovers or Bloomberg. You are proposing to increase the number of articles about your employer. I am opposed. Your proposal includes (apparently) nine named subsidiaries, contracting entities of no interest to a lay audience, unless they were trying to figure out whom to sue. Individually, there was precious little press. Some I could not find at all.

Would the suggestion to break down BASIS Curriculum Schools into its three business units simplify the matter? If not, how would you suggest simplifying it?

I do not want to expand the number of articles, just trying to help reach consensus on which article titles to include in order to accurately describe the school network. I am truly only concerned with supplying accurate information and need some guidance from the Wikipedia community on exactly how we can break the articles up in accordance with Wikipedia policy.

I am not interested in providing exhaustive articles on each of the BASIS business entities; I mentioned the management companies and the parent, BASIS Educational Ventures, only to provide clarity to this branding issue. I can't imagine there would be enough info to warrant an article for each.

I added further discussion regarding the legal names of BASIS business entities on the Talk page for Basis Schools, but I will provide the source here as well since there was mention by @Rhadow of trouble finding them.
