Change from REDIRECT to Disambiguation
editIt seems to me the change of this page from "REDIRECT to Bass (voice type)" into a disambiguation page was ill conceived. We have now 233 links to this page which makes the navigation for interested readers unnecessarily difficult. Is there even a single occurrence of Basso in any article which refers to the cyclist? Note that Ivan Basso is not the only one of that name; see All pages with titles containing Basso where he is listed, too. So if there should be a disambiguation page under this name, Basso, those other people and things must be included, too. That of course would duplicate the already existing page Basso (surname).
I suggest to return this page quickly (it's already listed at Wikipedia:Disambiguation pages with links) to a REDIRECT and mention via a hatnote —{{Redirect}}— at the Bass (voice type) article the existence of Basso (surname). -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 14:42, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
disambiguation
editIf Basso should remain a redirect to Bass - maybe better to discuss it Special:WhatLinksHere/Basso? - this disambiguation should be moved to Basso (disambiguation) and NOT cutted and pasted! [1] and [2] --MrKeefeJohn (talk) 10:00, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
- We've been here before, in 2009. There is a discussion above, which you ignored. Cut/paste was the lesser evil to avoid messing with Wikidata links. Now it's completely stuffed, and fixing this is above my pay grade. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 12:07, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
- before in 2019 or in 2009? If in 2009 it means 11 (eleven) years ago... Cut/paste is wrong, simply wrong. MrKeefeJohn (talk) 17:15, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
- 2009, as the time stamp above and the page history shows. Your change from a REDIRECT to a DAB with hundreds of incoming links (there are still >50 of those) was the initial wrong action. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 02:41, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
- In 12 years situation may change! About entering links, I checked them before creatin the disambiguation, they were less than 150, not hundreds. Now are 88, not all from mainspace. Anyway cut/paste is wrong, simply wrong, always wrong. MrKeefeJohn (talk) 05:36, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
- now Special:WhatLinksHere/Basso shows 77 links, less than an half coming from articles, the others from talk or user pages. MrKeefeJohn (talk) 06:24, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
- Done. 40 links left. What about this {{Incoming links|date=May 2021}}?MrKeefeJohn (talk) 08:33, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
