Orson Welles hoax
editMazzucchelli and Miller based Bruce Wayne's facial appearance on actor Gregory Peck. Miller has confirmed this in homage to the actor, as Orson Welles wanted to direct a Batman film back in 1946, with Peck appearing as the Dark Knight.
The supposed Welles/Peck project is a hoax perpetrated by comics writer Mark Millar. See here for details.

Synopsis
editThis synopsis is for too long and as per guidelines at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Comics/editorial_guidelines#Plot_summaries needs to be abbreviated. - Waza 23:44, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

"References in other media"
editAs the articles stands at this time, this seems like a "references to other media" section; everything given is within Year One's content, not other sources referrenceing the comic. T.J. Fuller, Jr. (talk) 09:07, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
Batman Begins
editThe list of differences is ridiculous and incomplete; a list of similarities would be shorter, consisting of the bat-calling device, Batman's recruiting of Gordon, and the rooftop encounter at the end; perhaps also the scene with Flass's introduction, and mention of inclusion of Loeb and Falcone as characters, albeit completely differently. Unless there are objexions, I'll make these changes.--Signor Giuseppe (talk) 20:08, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- Why was this section removed? Shouldn't we mention the link between this work and the film, especially since there's an entire section for references in other media. The Batman Begins article mentions it in the intro paragraph...is there a similar place here where we could reference the connection? Banjaloupe (talk) 03:04, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
- The information in this section should be substantiated or removed. Things like "it is rumored ..." should not be included (unless of course you can find a reliable reference that talks about said rumors). Also the viral marketing part seems like someone's opinion (i.e. Original Research). I suggest we find a reliable source comparing Year one and Batman begins; maybe the director of BB is on record as saying he drew inspiration from year one.Setitup (talk) 13:59, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
Adaptation
editThe adaptation section seems really long and kind of pointless. If its the synopsis of a screen play or something along those lines, perhaps it should have its own article? As it is, does it need to be that long? Its about 200 words longer than the plot summary of the actual articles topic. 121.73.224.5 (talk) 01:59, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
It is very long, and all of it is unreferenced. I'll take a stab at it.-5- (talk) 06:20, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
Alright, I did some clean-up. I hope it's a lot better now.-5- (talk) 10:34, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
Timeline notes
editThe comic #404 mentions it has been 18 years since Bruce Wayne saw The Mark of Zorro which debuted in the year 1940, technically making the current year liken to 1968. Bruce Wayne drives a black Porsche 928 which was produced from 1977-1995. He had been out of the United States for 12 years and was 25 at the time of his arrival from Europe where it is suggested he was in Monaco, and 13 when he left the U.S. The murder of his parents should have taken place near 1971-1974. Had Wayne been 25 in 1987 he would have been born in or near 1962. Ncsr11 (talk) 20:17, 13 October 2013 (UTC)

James Gordon, Jr.
editAnyone know if this character has a comma before "Jr." in the graphic novels? If that is how his name is stylized then it should be the same here. Thanks. Randy Kryn (talk) 12:34, 2 June 2018 (UTC)
