Is this really the most significant band named Battery?

edit

There are at least three other bands with the same name, and I believe one of them, the San Francisco EBM band, is at least as significant as the DC/Balto punk band.

The SF Battery has the first listing on Discogs (http://www.discogs.com/artist/74425-Battery), while the DC Battery has the third (http://www.discogs.com/artist/268201-Battery-3). The SF band received heavy play at industrial clubs around the US and Europe in the 90s, and their cover of "Gangsta's Paradise" is still often heard in the 2010s. They also appeared on dozens of compilations, continuing for years after breaking up. Industrial bands with female singers routinely credit Maria Azevedo as an influence even today.

SF Battery were probably the most important band on COP Int'l, a label significant enough to have its own Wikipedia article. They're the main reason that COP was a US industrial label instead of just being a label for Deathline Int'l self-releases, they were consistently among the top sellers on the label, and they helped define the "COP sound" (as distinct from Cleopatra, 21st Circuitry, and Reconstriction, the other California 90s industrial labels). The only significant label the DC band were on was Revelation, who were an well-known, successful label with an established sound long before signing Battery. --50.0.128.103 (talk) 22:14, 5 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Battery (band) → ? – Partial disambigation; we also have an article for Battery (electro-industrial band) and there is little to suggest that one is more notable than the other. Perhaps move to Battery (hardcore punk band)? PC78 (talk) 16:31, 2 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
