Marine Terminals
editI'm familiar with the convention of different sized threaded posts the article mentions, but I have never been able to find an authoritative source that states this is an official specification. Also, I've found several mentions on boating forums that the ABYC may have moved toward not having the terminals polarized. Or perhaps the ABYC never specified terminal sizes, and it was industry convention that has now been changed because at least one battery manufacturer switched to both 5/16" pos and neg at the request of the "major boat manufacturers".[1]
