The qualification 'tactical' would appear to be redundant. Is a victory not a victory?
In some Wikipedia articles the word 'tactical' is inserted when contributors wish to suggest that a victory was of limited importance because it was either not decisive or not the prelude to a victorious campaign.
In this case, the successful action was clearly crucial since had the landings been defeated the expedition would have foundered, and the subsequent campaign was victorious, thus rendering the qualification doubly redundant.
