I keep seeing references on Wikipedia to the French cavalry component. The unit is described as "16th Régiment Mixte de Marche de Palestine et Syrie". Where has this come from? It has dubious provenance, and seems to have been on a list after the 14th and 15th Light Horse.
Not only is there no 16th, but the unit is a hybrid of the actual unit name which is 1er Régiment Mixte de Marche de Cavalerie du Levant and the overall term for the French forces: Détachment Français de Palestine et de Syrie Keith H99 (talk) 18:12, 29 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
