Hi there. On .de and on commons there are some nice images and on http://www.army.mil/cmh-pg/BOOKS/WWII/utah/utah.htm you can find very useful free (PD) text. Regards, John N. 13:21, 29 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes, thank you John N. for those images. I have incorporated them into the formorly pictureless article. Cheif Captain 04:12, 1 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fiction

edit

I suggest deleting the Fiction section - it looks quite random, considering the huge amount of "Fiction" that deals with the topic. And it's not very informative, either. --Astat (talk) 14:20, 7 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Result

edit

Is there any patricular reason for the 'Result' in the Info box being an 'Allied victory'? On reading and editing the article, I can find no mention of any non American unit. Indeed, this quote from the intro: "American troops isolated and then captured the fortified port" seems to sum it up (as it is meant to). In the 'view history', I note that the 'Result' has changed once or twice between an 'Allied' and an 'American' victory. If the Americans were the only Allies involved in the Battle of Cherbourg, then doen't that make it an American victory?

incorrect Coordinates

edit

The coordinates giving in the article are nowhere near Cherbourg and in fact link me to a field in Northern France, almost 250 km from the site of the battle. Could someone please correct this as I am not sure on how. DragonFury (talk) 22:16, 10 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
