title
editThis is an awfully specific title for such a vague encounter, and the sources don't really support it - it's not even usually known as "Bitka na Dravi" in Croatian, it's just generally described as a battle near the Drava. Perhaps a more general title such as Croatian-Hungarian War of 925 would be more appropriate? --Joy [shallot] (talk) 08:59, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
title (2)
editI cannot agree with the assertion that the Battle of Drava River (Croat.: „Bitka na Dravi“) is not known in Croatian expert and professional circles. Although there are no contemporary accounts with exact time and location of the battle, the term is being commonly used in Croatia to mark a rather vague encounter of Croatian and Hungarian army (see for instance External link No. 2 in the article, dealing with symposium of esteemed Croatian historians, where the term „Bitka na Dravi 925“ was explicitly specified: …kralj Tomislav, koji se 925. pobjedom nad Mađarima na rijeci Dravi utvrdio hrvatsku granicu, or External link No. 5 dealing with book „Slavonia – History of settlements and origin of population“ written by Mirko Marković, PhD, with the same explicit specification > page 62, right column, twelfth row).
I talked to some editors and/or administrators of the Croatian Wikipedia (Flopy, Speedy Gonzales, Roberta F.) about the matter and they approved the article. Furthermore, on English Wikipedia there are more articles concerning ancient or medieval battles with no exact data on the time and/or location of the battle, but just a general description (see for instance the Battle of Riade, where the exact location is described as unknown, or the Battle of Drina (medieval) with neither the place /…along the river banks of the Drina, downstreams from Foča/ nor the time /fl. 927-960/ specified). Such articles are not disputed, still.
As for the title, maybe a more general one, such as „Croatian-Hungarian War of 925“, unfortunately I didn't find appropriate one in the literature so far. If anybody else did, I would agree with him to change the title of the article. --Silverije (talk) 19:23, 28 September 2012 (UTC)
- Remove disputed title tag that was over 6 months old. There is only one reference so I added a one source tag. Otr500 (talk) 04:47, 28 April 2013 (UTC)

Slavonia before 925
editI dont know were you guys are getting your facts except some dubious references which cannot be confirmed but Slavonia got its name because it was the land to which Slavs firstly came ( Slavs ----> Slavonia get it ??? ) and it certainly was not in hungarian ownership even before Battle on Drava. This battle is precisely the reason why it happened - because Magyars had intention of crossing Drava but king Tomislav stopped them just as he stopped Bulgarians 2 years after that. Do not put silly references about ownership of Slavonia which have no proof and are based solely on not-so-in-depth thinking. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 185.89.212.247 (talk) 11:17, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
