editAs mentioned above, this was indeed a victory for the Ottomans, as I pointed out in the article:
Allen: ”Thus both Silikov and Dro, operating on terms of numerical equality with the enemy, had each secured an important success. But the failure of Nazarbekov against the 36th and 5th Caucasian Divisions made the situation of the Erevan group still rather precarious.”.
Gilbert: “On May 26, the Turks won the Battle of Karakilis. 5,000 Armenians escaped through mountain passes.”.
As for the rest, as I understand it, the authors decided that this was a victory for Armenia, referring to Reynolds, the source himself does not mention the battle as a victory for the Armenians, On the contrary, he believed that the Armenians could not successfully advance.
Reynolds: „The victory at Sardarabad stirred some Armenian commanders to dream of going on the offensive. Nazarbekov, however, entertained no such fantasies and ordered that hostilities cease.” Dushnilkin (talk) 19:07, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
