"capitulation by gasification"?
editWhat exactly does this phrase mean?
Waiting for your opponents to turn into coal and natural gas? But that's millions of years!

The phrase still exists; it was present in the original 2009 version of the article.— Wdfarmer (talk) 04:46, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
Editing Out the Noble Savage POV
editRemoved an entire paragraph and portions of another that was disputed as early as December 2009. These portions of the article set up the Utes as "destructively encroached upon" noble savages and Meeker as the "messianic," "obdurate and patronizing" servant of imperialistic forces bent on destroying all culture but white Protestantism.
There's no dispute that there was a culture war between the Utes and the United States Government, but the tone of the removed text was far from neutral. Left as much factual statement in, but still challenged the statements that needed citation. Merge
editI merged the Battle of Milk Creek and White River War articles into the Meeker Massacre article because it's about the same topic. In fact, the Battle of Milk Creek and White River War had infoboxes with the same information.
Meeker Massacre is the more common label for the conflict, and was the kindling for the U.S. troop involvement. Rather than having duplicate background and aftermath information, there is now one article with a fuller (cited) view of the conflicts.
There was a lot of uncited content in this article, that would be great to include about some of the specifics of the conflict. Any sources???–CaroleHenson (talk) 16:58, 14 June 2018 (UTC)
