NB -- the location given for the battle is completely wrong. The battle took place around Montenotte Superiore. The Italian Wikipedia page for Cairo Montenotte explains that the town was only called "Cairo" and not "Cairo Montenotte" until the middle of the 19th century, when it was allowed to call itself "Cairo Montenotte" in memory of the battle, which had, in fact, taken place elsewhere.
