Name of Battle

edit

For me, the use of the Polish name here is simply inadequate, it should be replaced by an English one Birczenin (talk) 16:55, 28 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

How??? Forward.ops (talk) 15:34, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
"Ozyutichi" will be better than "Oździutycze" Birczenin (talk) 15:36, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Why? I’ve adding a Polish version because at that time it was under the Polish control isn’t it? Then if not then Ozyutychi (Ю - Yu, Ти - Ty, Чі - Chi) Forward.ops (talk) 15:47, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I say it is a difficult name so should use anfgiel names, for simple polish ones. Birczenin (talk) 15:48, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
What’s “anfgiel names” Forward.ops (talk) 15:55, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
English names as in Polish "Oździutycze" is in English "Ozyutychi" Birczenin (talk) 15:59, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Forward.ops please stop editing and start discussing here, please do not add commanders who did not take part or provide a source and quote from the book that says so, also please do not give false information there is nothing in Grzegorz Motyka's book about the retreat to Dominopol Birczenin (talk) 12:05, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

How is that a false information? If you don’t like what’s he’s says then it doesn’t mean anything, what he’s saying was true and the AK armed units did not destroyed the base of the UPA. I’ve added the commanders who’s commanded their battalions during that time and defended base. Do not remove and change anymore. Forward.ops (talk) 15:32, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
please provide a source for these commanders that they commanded and for the section of the aftermth that says they retreated to Dominopol Birczenin (talk) 15:34, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
OK.
Commander of the 3rd Tactical District “Lysonia” - Omelyan Polyovyi (1943 - 27.09.1944)
Commander of the Battalion “Syromantsi” - Hryhoriy Kovalchuk (20.11.1943 - 04.1944)
Commander of the 27th Volhynian Infantry Division - Jan Wojciech Kiwerski (Since 18 February 1944, source: Fijałka 1987, s. 164–165.)
Commander of the Battalion “Łuna” - Stanisław Piaszczyński
Commander od the Battalion “Trzask” - Zbigniew Twardy
Commander of the Battalion “Grzyms” - Franciszek Pukacki
Commander of the Battalion “Osnowa” - Kazimierz Rzaniak.
Source that the Polish armed units retreated to the village of Dominopol after the battle: Motyka, Grzegorz (2006). Ukraińska partyzantka 1942-1960: działalność Organizacji Ukraińskich Nacjonalistów i Ukraińskiej Powstańczej Armii (in Polish). Instytut Studiów Politycznych PAN. p. 360. ISBN 978-83-7399-163-7.
Anything else? Forward.ops (talk) 15:44, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
What does the source Fijałka 1987 mean to you, please give the full title, and Grzegorz Motyka does not write anything about this retreat on this page. Birczenin (talk) 15:47, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Fijałka says that Jan Wojciech Kiwerski was a commander of the 27th Volhynian Infantry Division since 18 February 1944 and Grzegorz Motyka did write it, that how it looks like: “After the battle for Ozyutichi, which ended in a bloody defeat of the Polish units, the AK troops retreated to Dominopol” and I just embellished the text. Forward.ops (talk) 15:53, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I’ve copied that text from the Russian Wikipedia about the Polish-Ukrainian partisan battles in the page named “Battles in 1944” and there’s added a source of Grzegorz Motyka. Forward.ops (talk) 15:54, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
and how do you know, for example, that he might have been ill, etc.? Please write what is in the source and not your own thoughts, and apparently this means that it is simply a lie, because Grzegorz Motyka does not write anything about it on this page. Birczenin (talk) 15:58, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Just go and watch the Russian Wikipedia about that and read what’s it’s says, from there I’ve added that information. Forward.ops (talk) 16:04, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
but you don't understand that that article in Russian contains a lot of untrue information, example about Battle of Vilya, so please remove Dominopol. Birczenin (talk) 16:10, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ok Forward.ops (talk) 16:24, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Basically the Home Army battalions retreated; even if not the village of Dominopol then just I’ve would do without it. Forward.ops (talk) 16:06, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
