Citation of classical sources. Classical sources like BAlex are not cited by page number but rather by chapter. This is because there were no page numbers and even if there were the page numbers are always different across additions. See Wikipedia:CGR/Guides/Primary sources or eg Chicago and New Hart sections on classical citations. Ifly6 (talk) 14:15, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Other thoughts. Citations should not be raw links or just links with their titles. Cf WP:CS:EMBED. Further bibliographic data should be added. I want to note also that the format of the article is in fact set up for {{sfn}} which would remove the current need to repeat the full LCL BAlex citation and then repeatedly link to LacusCurtius. Mark the language of the cited sources with the |lang= parameter. Hircio 46 is not a sufficient citation. History, Military is not an author name. Large sections of the prose text are still uncited. Many of the issues with citation, such as incorrect citation of classical sources to Loeb's page numbers, still persist. Please cite to the standard chapter and paragraph numbers which are (usually) consistent across editions. Hircio 46 still persists in the current version. Citation of unreliable sources such as TLDR History and some tourism website should also be removed and replaced. It also doesn't make sense to me why half the citations are written literally in Polish or Italian on the English Wikipedia. If you can translate the titles and metadata please do so. Large sections of prose are also still uncited, languages are still not noted, and citation style is still wildly inconsistent. I can understand why this was approved at Articles for Creation's "would you delete" standard but the article is, frankly, not high quality work. Ifly6 (talk) 03:57, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I have removed some of the outrageously unreliable sources that were cited in this article. Sorry, random webpages TLDR History, Heritage History, and GoDubrovnik.com's travel corner are not WP:RS. Ifly6 (talk) 06:53, 15 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
