editThis article is unbalanced to the point of insult. I didn't check the ref from 1900. The most recent reference was a dead link and not archived. However, I turned up a copy on Internet archive: https://archive.org/details/DTIC_ADA350167/page/n135/mode/1up That document seems even more of an insult to the indigenous people. Nevertheless Appendix B has the US Army order of battle for those readers wanting details. I am sure the descendants of those “dead Indians“ would appreciate knowing that a US musician had been wounded. I apologize for my sarcasm but I’ve been spending far too much time on one-sided American history. I suggest this article be deleted and the link to the reference be included in the main article. Sorry, I am unable to take it further myself. Humphrey Tribble (talk) 00:18, 23 September 2023 (UTC)
- This probably could be deleted. I just added some info from Winkler (2015) and it contradicts the 1900 source. My bias is towards the more modern source, but if you're going to delete the article anyway, it doesn't matter. Canute (talk) 18:33, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
