Opposing forces: Confederate

Rosser's brigade was not Hampton's former command. Hampton's former Brigade consisted of the 1st and 2nd South Carolina, Cobb's Georgia Legion, Phillips Georgia Legion and the Jeff Davis Legion. What source says that Rosser's brigade was Hampton's former command?

You are correct and the citations do not support the statement. Thank you for pointing out the error. Hal Jespersen (talk) 18:04, 7 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

“Winners and losers”

edit

The idea that Wikipedia can announce a winner and a loser to an isolated battle is misguided. This maneuver was merely a part of a larger strategy by Grant which succeeded in quickly defeating the Confederacy. Fielding99 (talk) 03:12, 2 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
