The information on the Germans is meagre. How exactly did they react to the Canadian advance? I suggest to expand it before nominating this article for a higher class.

Response: It's very true that the amount of information on the two sides is not equal. This is not however because of a lack of effort but rather the simple fact that very little information from the German side has been translated, analyzed or survived bombings in the 2nd World War. For instance, you will see no figure on German dead or wounded, just prisoners of war, because no source has been able to produce any other than a ballpark number. Where possible an active effort has been made to include german perspective, including the court of enquiry following the battle. Jack Sheldon's "The German Army on Vimy Ridge 1914 - 1917" may permit additional expansion in the future but the book is not currently available in any public or academic library I have visited.Labattblueboy (talk) 13:28, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I can't find that book, but I found 'The Battle for Vimy Ridge, 1917' (2007) by Jack Sheldon and Nigel Cave. Is that possibly the book you are refering to? Sheldon wrote many other books about the German army here and there. At least I have access to this book, so if you can't find it in your library, I can help you. Response: Sheldon has written a number, his one on Vimy is rather new. Which book do you have access to? the Vimy Sheldon, Cave 2007 book? If so access would be helpful, I might be able to add some additional German side information. If not, no additional German perspective will be possible. Response: I have added additional citations regarding the German side including their view of the battle as draw, Pour le Mérite winners, the German tactical plan and the geographical in implementing them, as well some data regarding the German reaction to main and preliminary attacks. This is in addiction to the court of inquiry already there, the summary German order of battle.Labattblueboy (talk) 18:59, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

A large map that shows where in the total frontaline this spot was located would greatly enhace the understanding. Wandalstouring (talk) 12:26, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

How about Image:Usma battle of arras 1917.png or Image:Western Front 1917.jpg ? Labattblueboy (talk) 13:41, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
I prefer Western Front 1917 and add a sign that shows where on the front this battle was. Wandalstouring (talk) 17:53, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
