The names used for this battle are completely confusing - The Oxford Illustrated History of the Royal Navy from 1995 uses "Les Espagnols sur Mer", and that's probably about as modern and authoritative as one can get for this. Eggenberger's Encyclopedia of Battles uses "Battle of Winchelsea". Google's few matches are somewhat inconclusive. There are probably still some red links wandering around for even more alternate titlings... Stan02:39, 17 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Inconsistent numbers for size of the Castilian fleet

The lead says 47, the Background says 47 on the way out, but mentions that some English ships were then captured, which might have added to the total returning, and the Infobox says 40. Jmchutchinson (talk) 15:20, 28 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
