Merger proposal

I propose merging Armistice of Znaim into Battle of Znaim. Both are in fact battle pages about the same event, and originally 'Battle' was created as a redirect to 'Armistice' until content was moved from 'Armistice' to 'Battle' in May 2021. @Gog the Mild: could you explain why you did that? Because it seems a WP:REDUNDANTFORK to me, as both articles essentially treat the same subject. I do think 'Battle of Znaim' is the better title despite the 'Armistice of Znaim' having more significance for the overall war, and being the slightly older page of the two (by a few hours). Whichever we prefer, having two separate articles seems the least useful solution. Please let me know your thoughts (not just Gog the Mild, but anyone else who might read this). - Hi there. I agree that "Battle" would be the better title for the current material and would support this change. I had intended to write a separate article on the armistice - I have a soft spot for treaties, truces and such. It is still on my to do list, but I keep getting side tracked with other stuff. Probably Armistice of Znaim would be better as a red link. Gog the Mild (talk) 17:18, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
- Prompted by this notice, I have started work on a proper article for the armistice. Assuming that the merge happens - I see no reason why it shouldn't - I'll then slot the draft in and there will be something to link to. Gog the Mild (talk) 20:47, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
