Decipher/decypher
edit@Keith-264: I'm not aware of any mainstream dictionary that supports the -y- spelling, in either UK or US English. Compare these dictionaries that list the -i- spelling with this shorter list for the -y- spelling. Wiktionary does list decypher but not as a UK spelling, and says the -i- spelling is preferred. -- John of Reading (talk) 17:36, 28 January 2023 (UTC)

- Yes, my point was that only unreliable dictionaries such as Wiktionary list the -y- form; all the authoritative dictionaries list the -i- form as correct and do not mention a -y- form, even as a British English variant. Hence my correction to the article. -- John of Reading (talk) 08:51, 29 January 2023 (UTC)
