Song Title
editThis should NOT be titled a Aguilera song! It should just be titled Beautiful_song or Beautiful_Perry_song. Linda Perry wrote the damn thing, no matter how many pop singers cover it.
| "...and is even considered by many critics to be one of the best songs of the 2000s; some critics even go so far as to call it one of the best pop songs of all time." – source, please? Extraordinary Machine 21:39, 24 October 2005 (UTC)
- Because I hate to see questions, no matter how old, go unanswered, articles are named based on what they would be most identifiable as. No one will expect to find the song title by the name of the writer, any more then they'd expect two movies with the same name to be named after the director. No one who didn't already know who the writer was would know this is the song they were looking for on the disambiguation page, and would overlook it. Titles are not about credit. They're about identifiability. ——Digital Jedi Master (talk) 00:42, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
- Also, is this Aguilera's second number one single in the UK, or her third? The article is contradicting itself here. Extraordinary Machine 22:15, 24 October 2005 (UTC)
- Neither, it was her fourth #1 in the UK. This can be confirmed at The Official UK Charts Company. --Metropolitan90 08:10, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
Why no mention of the GLAAD award?
- It's in there now. ShadowHalo 07:04, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
Beautiful, COVERED by Christina Aguilera
editI need to know what instruments are you used in Beautiful be Christina Aguilera. I can clearly hear piano, cello, violin, and drums. I was wondering if there were any others
- Bass, drums, keyboards, piano, and a string quartet. At least, that's whats in the song's credits. ShadowHalo 07:04, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

Foundation For a Better Life crap
editSo Christina lets the homophobic organization Foundation For A Better Life use "Beautiful" in one of their ads. Considering the content of the music video and Christina's massive gay follow, this needs mentioning in the article. NOW. --98.232.176.109 (talk) 01:52, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
- Firstly, it was a cover version that was used in the ad, not the original, and secondly, I see no evidence that FFBL is overtly homophobic, even though its founder is. What's your source on that? 86.7.16.29 (talk) 14:41, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
It is a Christina Aguilera song
editShe didn't cover it. The song was written by Linda Perry, but it was originally recorded and released as a Christina Aguilera single. A lot of singers record songs that they didn't write, a few examples:
Angel (Aretha Franklin song) Aretha didn't write it.
Remember Me (Diana Ross song) Diana didn't write it.
Music and Me (Michael Jackson song) and Happy (Michael Jackson song) Michael didn't write them.
Holiday (Madonna song) Madonna didn't write it.
The writers of all these are credited in the respective infobox and articles for each song. Why should different standards be applied for the credits of "Beautiful"?--Glosoli87 (talk) 01:20, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
Cover Versions
editKelly Clarkson actually did a cover of this song in her concert, recently this year (Boise, Idaho); I would add it myself, to the list of covers, but the table wiki syntax is a bit too complex for me and I don't want to mess it up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.193.28.36 (talk) 12:19, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

Was "Beautiful" really pitched to Pink?
editI have a problem with the caption below Pink's photo "Originally, the song was initially pitched to Pink"; from what I've heard on TV specials, interviews, and such, of Linda and Pink... the song was never pitched to Pink, she heard it before simply because she was working with Linda, but Linda never meant for Pink to get the song. In fact, Linda wanted to record the song herself, and changed her mind only after hearing Christina sing it in the "Stripped" sessions, which was, if I'm correct, moths after "Misunderstood" was finished.
