Notability
editIt only has to be notable for a horse... since this horse is the subject of a book and a documentary, I would say it is notable Puddytang (talk) 20:01, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
Original research?
editThe second sentance of intro paragraph is information I got from a contemporaneous pamphlet which seems to be basically promotional material http://www.archive.org/stream/storyofbeautiful00roge#page/6/mode/2up Is this original research? From the research I have done so far, it seems like the contemorary newspaper accounts are basically just promotional material as well; many of them use the exact same phrases and quotations. I feel like i get off the hook by saying, the promoters claimed x. That is a different thing from taking them at their word and saying that the horse actually did x. To Do
editThe section "tours" is still largely without citations.
I would like to expand the "cruelty" section. Apparently hundreds of thousands of school children signed th "jim key pledge" not to be cruel to animals. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Puddytang (talk • contribs) 03:11, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
I also remeber seeing somewhere how much money the horse took in, which was how they could afford a private railroad car. Key sold Jim to Rogers for 10,000 dollars, and Rogers apparently turned down offers of 60,000 dollars. 10000 then would be worth about one quarter of a million today!
