Leptinus validus?
edit Resolved
This short article Beetles-Parasitic Beetles seems to call the beetle Leptinus validus. May be another name. Jason Quinn (talk) 03:38, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
- This source Beaver Beetles by Marc Behrendt in Buckeye Trapper (Jul 2003) says, "Beaver beetles live on the beaver. There is actually another beetle that lives specifically in beaver nests. These nest beetles are in the same family as Platypsyllus Castoris, scientifically named Leptinullus Validus. It shall be called the beaver nest beetle for our purposes." My original link calls the beetle "L. validus" and I extrapolated from other species that the "L." stood for "Leptinus"... now it appears that the "L." means "Leptinullus", and it's a different beetle altogether.
