Perhaps Bedrock is to bedford NY and New Rock City is to New York City?
editJust a thought as the series mentions that Bedrock is somewhat not too far from New Rock City. I sort of got the impression that Bedrock is like bedford, NY. At the same time however there is ambiguity in the climate of the city which would determine the locale. The other factor in the equation is that were are talking about pre-historic times, and even more significant is the fact that it is a fictional cartoon and not bound to any kind of rules with regards to the story, because, after all, its a cartoon. This same debate is similar to where is the city of Riverdale from the famed Archie Comic series, as well as where is the city of Springfield from The Simpsons.
Could Bedrock be....?
editCould Bedrock be a prehistoric Los Angeles?
- Near "Hollyrock" (Hollywood)
- Has Le Beria tar Pits -like Los Angeles
- Within flying distance of Rock Vegas {Las Vegas}
- Is located west of "Arkanstone" (Arkansas)
- Is near the ocean
- Guest stars drop in all the time in BedrocK:
- Alvin Brickrock (Alfred Hitchcock)
- Stony Curtis (Tony Curtis)
- Cary Granite {Cary Grant}
- Ann Margrock (Ann Margaret)
- Perry Masonary (Perry Mason)
- Samanthina {Bewitched}
- Three Stooges (Unnamed Cameo)
- Ed Sulleystone (Ed Sullivan)
- James Bondrock (James Bond)
- James Darrock (James Darrin)
- the Cartrocks (the Cartwrights, from Bonanza)
Bedrock High School should be merged here
editBedrock High School doesn't merit its own article. Ironically, that article even states "Bedrock High School was rarely seen or mentioned on the Flintstones", confirming that it's not even particularly notable in the world of The Flintstones. 172.200.189.208 20:22, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
- As this proposal has been uncontested for 5 months I have merged the article here. It was already mentioned in this article anyway. Pufnstuf 16:20, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Bedrock skyline season1 closing.jpg
editImage:Bedrock skyline season1 closing.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Suggestion
editThere are a lot of obvious parodies mentioned in the article (example: Rock Vegas for Las Vegas, etc.), and are (too often) followed by a set of parentheses that mention that such and such is a parody on... "..." . I think it's great that this is mentioned, but might be an eyesore to have the whole article strewn with these parentheses. What would you people think if we omitted the parentheses, as well as the "parody on ..." such and such, and in their place we put the name of The Flintstones' version of the place/person/object, with an internal link, which if rested upon, shows the article name of the actual article in the Status Bar. (e.g. Rock Vegas links to Las Vegas, Nevada and would show "Las Vegas" in the status bar so people know where they're headed.) I hope that long paragraph I spewed out made sense. Also, I might just take initiative and go ahead and do it; please discuss this if you think my action (if I carry it out) should be reverted and at least discussed first. Thanks. 98.202.38.225 (talk) 03:16, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
