GA Review

Conclusion: Fail
editWhile the article is well-written, the following reasons have caused it to fail its GAN:
- The article does not stay focused on the issue, going into unnecessary detail (review criterion #3). Biographies of park-installation namesakes make up the bulk of the article when only a glancing reason why it was so named and a Wikilink to the namesake are merited.
- Park does not seem notable at present (as duly noted with a tag) for both implicit and explicit reasons; i.e., the only reason the park appears to be notable is for its housing of Lake Amenia (which doesn't have its own article and shouldn't be the focus of this one). Also, all references come from non-independent sources (review WP:RS)—with three of the four from the same source: Amenia Historical Society. Review Wikipedia:N#General_notability_guideline.
As an aside, it would be nice to include some pictures of the park, although GA status is not dependent upon this. Best regards --Eustress (talk) 20:02, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
