Cost of construction

edit

I've seen this reported as "$26 million". Is this in United States dollars or Canadian dollars? --Idont Havaname (Talk) 01:40, 28 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Canadian Dollars I suppose since it's Canada's Wonderland. That's all I got, nothing saying otherwise either, no one knows. When I get back to work, I'll dig around, maybe I'll get an answer. -- cncxbox 4:56, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

It is indeed in Canadian Dollars, I've asked my managers. -- cncxbox 6:30, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Facebook Group

edit

Please do not edit the Facebook group link, unless it's endorsed by Canada's Wonderland employees or it's an official group by Canada's Wonderland. -- Cncxbox 05:58, 30 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Remember, unless proven, your group will constantly be delisted until you can prove that you are a staff of Canada's Wonderland who created the group. I monitor this page heavily, more than any other pages since I created it. -- Cncxbox 04:54, 4 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

EDIT: Your group can stay listed as long as you add it separately under the supported one as I have constantly listed. -- Cncxbox 21:09, 5 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Behemoth coaster.jpg

edit

Image:Behemoth coaster.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Height restriction

edit

The height restriction was originally set to 52", but it has been recently modified to 54". I checked the sources but couldn't find a figure supporting either. I removed the height restriction as it is still under construction, perhaps hence undecided, and for lack of sources. -- dockingmantalk 23:29, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

It's 54", confirmed by a official sources. Dheppens (talk) 15:54, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Major Revisions

edit

I've made many revisions and additions to this page - it's twice as big as it was before I started working on it. I'd appreciate thoughts and copy editing from extra pairs of eyes. Enjoy. Dheppens (talk) 05:37, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Aka: "CWMania (Canada's Wonderland fan club)"

A note for discussion regarding CWMania. I had added a paragraph to the "Reception" section which read as follows:

The park continues to recognize the popularity and success of Behemoth by hosting special events for the ride, such as Extended Ride Time and the second annual, "Behemothon," an evening of uninterrupted access for members of CWMania (Canada's Wonderland fan club) in June 2009.

This referenced a CBC Entertainment article which stated same. This paragraph was blanked by 70.29.54.240 (talk) and I interpreted this as vandalism and reversed it. 70.29.54.240 then adjusted the paragraph to simply: "The park continues to recognize the popularity and success of Behemoth by hosting special events for the ride, such as Extended Ride Time." With citation removed. I now believe this is not vandalism, but a good faith effort to improve the article overall by removing the reference to CWMania. I would like to reach a consensus on this issue. My position is that the group CWMania does exist, the event Behemothon did occur, and I believe it is an important mention in the Reception section. The CBC article, "Thrill of the Behemoth" stated:

While Wonderland hasn't instituted any permanent special privileges for the Behemoth riders, the park did organize several events catering to the group of coaster aficionados. There was an hour of Extended Ride Time (known as ERT in the coaster world) in July, when season's pass holders were allowed in an hour early solely to ride Behemoth. And there was the Behemothon, an evening of uninterrupted access for members of CWMania in June.

Dheppens (talk) 06:33, 16 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have returned the reference to CWMainia for the reasons described above. Dheppens (talk) 21:30, 26 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
I have marked the reception section as disputed as some content continues to be blanked. As an attempted resolution, I have rewritten this section to attempt to include all viewpoints with clearer and and better sourced statements. I appeal for assistance in resolving this dispute. Dheppens (talk) 02:15, 3 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
As there has been total silence on this issue since the rewrite, I'm assuming that editors are now happy with the balanced content. Removing the disputed tag. Dheppens (talk) 07:47, 31 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Info Redundancies

edit

This article is replete with several unnecessary reiterations of facts. For example, there's about four or five identical sentences about the high efficiency through-put. I'm new here and this isn't a huge issue but it looks ridiculous. — Preceding unsigned comment added by QuiteSo (talkcontribs) 18:21, 6 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Behemoth Reassessment

GA Reassessment: Behemoth (roller coaster)

edit
This discussion is transcluded from Talk:Behemoth (roller coaster)/GA2. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the reassessment.

This are the issues I have found within the article (most have to do with references, the quality of the article (the way it is written) is good and doesn't need to be changed.):

  • "At the boarding area, the station features three colour-coded cabinets for loose belongings – one designated for each of the three trains", reference number 13 does not support this.
  • "From the top, a passenger can clearly see the iconic CN Tower to the left and overlook the entire park to the right", is not supported by references 2, 4, or 5.

There are only 2 things that haven't been addressed. According to Wikipedia's Verifiability policy, "in practice it is only necessary to provide inline citations [...] for any information that has been challenged or that is likely to be challenged". I feel this is the case here. Nobody can legitimately argue that the train doesn't wait at the brake run until the station is clear. Also as you said yourself Dom, its very clear there are magnetic brakes on the ride. I personally feel these elements could be left as is and the article still passed. Also, if you look back at the originally reviewed article, this information was present yet the article was still passed. Themeparkgc  Talk  23:12, 19 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

I agree with you. The article will remain a GA. Thanks Astro and Themeparkgc for helping get this article back up to par!--Dom497 (talk) 19:30, 20 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
