Bellator 78
Andrey Koreshkov & Marius Zaromskis fight was announced as a TKO, not a KO. I don't want to get in trouble for having to keep putting it back. If somebody could help me stop the vandalism it would be appreciated. --Willdawg111 (talk) 02:17, 27 October 2012 (UTC)
This reliable source says different: http://www.sherdog.com/events/BFC-Bellator-Fighting-Championships-78-25211
If you have a reliable source to back up what you are saying, please present it here instead of engaging in an edit war. JonnyBonesJones (talk) 02:47, 27 October 2012 (UTC)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKFasLXEyAY I fixed it and cited a reference.--Willdawg111 (talk) 02:51, 27 October 2012 (UTC) http://www.mmafighting.com/2012/10/26/3559896/bellator-78-results-tsarev-vs-good Here's another source. --Willdawg111 (talk) 02:53, 27 October 2012 (UTC)
- The youtube video isnt a reliable source. However, the mmafighting.com one is. So thanks for bring this to my attention. JonnyBonesJones (talk) 03:04, 27 October 2012 (UTC)
Results deleting and misplaced scores.
editIf you see any delete results of TKO/KO wins or move the scores from the proper "Method" section into the misplaced "Notes" section, please revert these edits. Thank you. JonnyBonesJones (talk) 05:14, 1 December 2012 (UTC)
Vandalsim
editI once again had to go in and fix the vandalsim. We seem to have somebody who prefers to be destructive instead of constructive. The format for this article has the judges scores in the comment section. We also don't use punches after a KO or TKO. It just doesn't need to be there. The only time you need to put anything in after it is if its something different such as a physician stoppage. It just keep everything nice and clean and easy to read.
If you see anybody come to this page and make these vandalistic changes, please help me out and revert them. Thanks. Willdawg111 (talk) 18:12, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
- Just curious, but where was this format decided? You say "we" but I've been doing the Bellator pages since day 1 and never seen this formatting before. They are now modeled after the UFC results tables, which include the judge scores after the decision (such as "Unanimous decision (30–27, 30–27, 30–27)"). If you can point me to where it was unanimously decided to do it the way you suggest, please do so. Until then, I'll keep it how it was originally. Udar55 (talk) 18:32, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
I'm the one that has been putting in the Bellator events and this is the format that has been being used the entire season. Please leave my work alone. Thanks. Willdawg111 (talk) 19:38, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
- Um, I've been working on Bellator pages (and created the season pages after most pages were deleted) since 2009. So I'll stick with what has been working since then and the method that everyone agrees with. If you feel it should be changed to your way, take up your cause on the talk page of Wikipedia MMA project. Udar55 (talk) 00:36, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- Willdawg111, don't delete a section from this talk page arbitrarily. Please follow the format used in all Bellator seasons (that's the format widely accepted) and stop calling everyone that reverts you a "vandal" (since your edits can be considered disruptive, they'll be probably reverted). You've been warned many times about this. If you insist on continuing this edit war i'll have to report you in Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring. Remember, the work is not yours, it belongs to everyone (it's under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License) and is subject to change anytime (we always try to follow a consensus). Poison Whiskey 00:27, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
Here's my issue. You have people who go around writing the articles and putting in results. You have some other people who go around trying to critisize others work, trying to change it up, trying to delete it and pretending like they are a part of it. It is delisional for these people to say they are a part of the work, because they are being destructive instead of constructive.Willdawg111 (talk) 16:19, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- It was you who changed the format. Before making changes of that kind, you must propose it (on this talk page) to the people who were doing this before you came and are complaining (in this case Udar55 and JonnyBonesJones), or everyone else will keep reverting your edits. If there is a disagreement, you should bring it to the project's talk page (Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Mixed martial arts) or ultimately to dispute resolution requests. I hope we can resolve it without any struggle. Poison Whiskey 17:31, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- Just to reiterate, the work is not yours. Many people were working on it before you came, and yet nobody has more right than anyone, beginner or veteran. We need to follow a consensus. Poison Whiskey 17:36, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- If you want to discuss it, let's discuss it. In the mean time, how about leaving the format as is. OK? Thanks!! How about everybody, is the format being used the cleanest and easiest to read or would you like me to put the entries in differently. Please let me know.
Willdawg111 (talk) 23:40, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
- I prefer the old format. But first, can you explain to me how removing the knockout methods can be productive? Poison Whiskey 00:10, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
- It's extra clutter. Saying somebody was TKO or KO'd from a punch seems pretty redundant. If it was something that doesn't happen on a regular basis, like a physician stoppage, then it should be there. Its about making it as clean and easy to read as possible. We need to eliminate the redundancy on all the events, not just this one.Willdawg111 (talk) 01:45, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
- So, just because "punches" is the most common way of knockout it should be removed from every result? i think TKO or KO only is too vague, since a TKO can be via punches, kicks, knees, elbows, doctor stoppage, corner stoppage, slam, etc. The "Method" section is made exactly to describe the best way possible how the fight ended (including the judges' scorecards in case of decision). Is also good for you to know that we use Sherdog as the source for the results (see this example). Poison Whiskey 16:59, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
- Hey everybody, I'm going to clean this article up in a week or two, getting rid of the redundancy and putting the scores into the comment section where they are easier to follow. If there is going to be any issue with this, please let me know. If we have a bunch of people who don't like the idea of it being cleaned up, then I won't do it. You have time to let your opinion be heard, if you aren't being involved, then please don't complain or mess with it later. Thanks.Willdawg111 (talk) 14:26, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
- You know there is an issue because nobody wants it done that way except you. Why do you insist on doing it your way when there is a set standard? Like I said before: If you want to change it, take it up on the MMA Wikipedia Project, not here on the talk page. Start a vote there, which is the appropriate avenue. If you don't within the next day, I will for the sake of clarity. You can't just say, "Hey, I'm changing it and don't mess with it when I do." The format has been decided and agreed upon. Udar55 (talk) 15:14, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
- I put a discussion about these issue on the project page. I really believe what I am trying to point out will make things better and easier to follow. Lets talk about it. Thanks. Willdawg111 (talk) 05:45, 19 December 2012 (UTC)
