The Residents are known as Belliniggles

It is not correct to say, it's an "ongoing German tradition...". And especially in the case " Bellinger River", the "er" is pure GRAMMAR (like New York's Hudson). No Australian would say the 's is an ongoing tradition, do they?. The same is with the Germans.

I live in Bellingen; moved here in 1975. I have never heard 'Belliniggles' in my life. Generally, people here call themselves Bellingenites. Alpheus (talk) 19:44, 18 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
I also live in Bellingen. I was born here. Alpheus is right: "Bellingenites" are the usual slang term, and "Belliniggles" is a new one to me as well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.149.86.206 (talk) 03:55, 20 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I should point out that Bob Brown, the leader of the Australian Greens, might also be notable enough to be included in the article's list, though he is not a current resident, neither (correct me if I'm wrong) is Adam Gilchrist. Perhaps a "notable people born in Bellingen" section would be more appropriate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.149.86.206 (talk) 03:59, 20 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
