County seat → country seat

edit

I don't understand what "the county seat of the Peters family" means. Is this an error? --Capnpitz 12:18, 12 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes—was an error—should have said "country seat", which means the mansion in the countryside outside the city for a wealthy family. (It was outside the city back then.) Fixed. — ¾-10 17:24, 12 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

"Belmont, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania" as separate article rather than redirect

edit

As I write this, "Belmont, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania" currently redirects to "Belmont District, Pennsylvania", which is OK, but it could really be a separate article in order to follow the convention used elsewhere, such as:

The logic of separate articles is that today's (informal, non-legal) neighborhood definitions often have slightly different borders than the pre-1854 entities. The sister articles of each pair link to one another, but each can also discuss the details of its own topic without confounding.

I lack time to change this now, but I suggest it for the future. — ¾-10 17:38, 12 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
