editPretty sure Askren was born in Iowa, moved up to Wisconsin as a kid.
Accusations of being boring
editJust about every time Askren gets mentioned in MMA circles, someone mentions how boring people find his fights and how he hardly ever finishes. It might be worthwhile to mention that, since it's such a major aspect of his career. Here's a few links to instances I found in print. Live commentary shows would also work as references.

Ben Askren won the Big 12 title in 2004, but it says he got 2nd that year. I would like to amend that. 47.14.22.237 (talk) 04:22, 6 October 2021 (UTC)

If you could point out where specifically in the article this misinformation is present I'd be happy to fix this for you (presuming you a) provide a reliable source or b) the source tied to the claim is correct and what is written is incorrect).
