Feijóo or Feijoo
editIt's not 'Feijóo', but 'Feijoo'. Please move. Will
- (page was moved to Feijoo Jul 12 2007 by Dalobuca; I asked for it to be moved back). I base the preference for the "Feijóo" spelling on three English-language authorities: Encyclopedia Britannica (both 1911 and 2004[1]), a paper by Richard G. Anderson in Journal of the History of Medicine and Allied Sciences - Volume 55, Number 1, January 2000, pp. 67-79[2], and the book Early Modern Spain: A Documentary History by Jon Cowans [3]. For the same reason I changed e to y. I realize that the Spanish wikipedia spells it Feijoo, with a redirect from Feijóo, but the evidence is that learned authorities writing in English add the accent. If someone is a real authority on the history of Spanish orthography in an English-language context, I'd be happy to hear about it. David Brooks (talk) 07:15, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
- Well ... he's my ancestor. 1) There are no accents in English 2) My family name is Feijoo, without the accent.
