I took Pritchard's initials out of the beginning of the second paragraph. I think this is considered the more appropriate usage in articles after the subject's full name has been used once. Sorry in advance if I screwed up :) Doc Tropics 22:21, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- No problem. The general normally went by his initials, according to his grandson (who attended the same church as I back in the day)... but since i didn't clarify that in the article, that does actually read better. brachot l'cha (blessings to you) --SHLAMA 08:51, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
The article looks good and some more material about his early life, education, and career would really round it out. Do you have any more details available? I'm not trying to be pushy; you actually have me interested at this point :) Also, I just have to ask...what language did you bless me in? Doc Tropics 06:29, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- I have his biography someplace... just have to locate it. Then I can add more. I used to attend church with General Pritchard's grandson, so some of my information comes from the biography and the rest from talking to the General's grandson. The blessing is in Hebrew (transliterated). I'm Jewish on my father's side. Thanks for the comments. brachot l'cha. -SHLAMA 10:23, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for your blessing, and may it bring you good Karma. That's about as close as I can come to offering a blessing in return :) You have really whipped this article into shape and it's looking great! Keep up the good work and thanks for making such a useful contribution. --Doc Tropics 21:58, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- I located the General's biography and entered much more personal information about him. I didn't enter as much battle detail as was in the book, nor did I include his family tree chart. I didn't think those details were necessary or valuable to the article. Your thoughts? Thanks! -SHLAMA 23:04, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
You might try a loose interpretation of notability on those topics; if his parents or grandparents did anything notable they would be worth mentioning, but probably not the whole family tree. Same with the battles; if he was in a famous battle or took action that earned him a medal that's notable. Otherwise I think you're right...extra details don't always improve an article, sometimes they just clutter add clutter. Also, you might want to look at the 'stub' tag at the bottom of the page and either delete it or ask an Admin to. I think you've taken this article well beyond 'stub'. --Doc Tropics 23:46, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Milhist B-class assessment
editRated as start for time being. Lacks inline citations (at a minimum every paragraph should end with one). Tone a little un-encyclopaedic in places, noticeably in death section. Ancestry section not appropriate. Zawed (talk) 11:06, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
