Amounts in dollars?

edit

It seems odd to me that the money amounts for the establishment of the company are given in dollars. The cited source is a survey website, so may be translating everything into dollars for consistency. I found this in the Store norske leksikon: the relevant passage says 10,000 Danish rigsdaler, of which Egede himself supplied 300, and a 300 rigsdaler royal grant. This also disagrees with the source in the article. I think a little more digging may be indicated and that amounts stated in Danish currency are to be preferred - it's not as if the US dollar has remained unchanged in spending power, either. Danish/Norwegian point of view

edit

I think there is a problem with POV of this article. It is written from the point of view of the colonizers. Then there are weird lines like: "... it was ultimately successful in re-establishing sovereignty over Greenland." The idea that the medieval kings of Norway held sovereignty over "Greenland" ignores the fact that the Inuit population was never under any Scandinavian king. Those kings could never claim more than control of the Norse settlements.--Óli Gneisti (talk) 19:32, 19 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
