Tone
editThis is an interesting article, but "The Purpose of BerkShares" section needs to be rewritten. It reads like a promotional blurb, and many of the assertions are not supported by references.

I edited this section (and the following section, which I renamed to Emulation and Media Attention) to remove the promotional tone. I went ahead and took the tone tag off, although some more references would be helpful. Harry1717 (talk) 05:01, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
Where does the (real) money go?
editA seemingly very important question here is what happens to the 95 cents individuals pay to the bank for each Berkshare they're issued. Do the banks hold on to it? Does "BerkShares, Inc." get it? How are they investing the money and what are they doing with the proceeds (on $2.2 million, not exactly pocket change)? I can't find the info on the Berkshares website (huge shock). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Danm1130 (talk • contribs) 15:25, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
"paid to the IRS"
edit"paid to the IRS" -- this part has got to be wrong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.203.238.6 (talk) 16:08, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
List of Complementary Currencies
editI suggest creating a new page called "list of complementary currencies" that includes BerkShares along with LETS, TimeDollars, Chiemgauer, and others. This concept is gaining favor and Wikipedia should track its growth. Thanks! --Lbeaumont (talk) 14:27, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
- Ok I found: List of community currencies in the United States which seems to be what I had in mind. Can we add a "see also" section to this article and include a link to that list. Thanks! --Lbeaumont (talk) 16:35, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
- Done! --Lbeaumont (talk) 21:54, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
