Is the Berlin Hat a Sun dial? Makes sense — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:8C0:B02:B540:A16D:8544:F7E6:8F17 (talk) 00:45, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
Bibliography
editAbout Wilfried Menghin's book, please check the spelling of the city : It's Strasbourg in French and English, and Strassburg or Straßburg in German. Thank you, have a nice day. Rosenknospe (talk) 11:19, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Calendar
editI am sceptical about the calendar stuff. Give the archaeoastronomers any arrangement or pattern, a heap of stones, a poem, or, well, a hat, and they will discover that it can be "used as a calendar". If the theory is at all respectable, by all means discuss it, but say exactly whose theory it is and where it was published, don't use Wikipedia's voice. --dab (𒁳) 21:54, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
- There is now a very elaborate display with all this calendar stuff given in great detail surrounding the hat in the Neues Museum, not that I can follow it. Johnbod (talk) 22:03, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Runic calendar
editThere seems to be a contradiction between this article and others - particularly, Runic calendar. That article claims that the oldest artifacts that have to do with the Metonic cycle in northern Europe, are from 13th century. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sasha.cohn (talk • contribs) 14:51, 16 July 2016 (UTC)

Sun Dial
editCould this “Hat” be a sun dial? It has a sun on the top of it. Makes more sense than “hat”, but falls in line with a calendar. It’s definitely a way to measure time. 2601:8C0:B02:B540:A16D:8544:F7E6:8F17 (talk) 00:50, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
