Bernard Cornwell's picture
editI took a pic of him in Rio and I'd like to upload it to Wikipedia. How can I do it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.142.58.19 (talk) 19:59, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
- Go to Special:Upload then click on the 'entirely my own work' link. Scroll down the page and fill out the form, including stating that you took the picture. Then once it's uploaded, use the code [[File:<name of your file>|thumb|right|<caption>]] to put it in the article (fill in the bits between <> first). Modest Genius talk 01:08, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

editSays on his website, in the Q&A section, that the new Saxon story is to be called Sword Song and it'll be published in October. Andyana 18:13, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[1]
Nationality: English?
editNationality: English?
Should that be English-American or American and English or maybe even just American as he is a US citizen and has lived in the United States for 30 years? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.230.191.232 (talk) 07:19, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
- Generally speaking, i'd say no. Whilst it appears that both of these statements are true, he has an American citizenship and has lived in America for quite some time, there is no evidence that he has renounced his English citizenship, and his public persona appears to lean in that direction; His website lists him as "Britain's" writer, there have been situations in which he hasn't corrected people who have referred to him as "British", and the English certainly claim him, as evidenced by the awarding of an OBE, something not generally awarded to anyone outside of the commonwealth.
- All that aside, 'English-American' is a term you would expect to be used for the children (and children's children etc) of immigrants born in America, in the same way as "Irish-American" and "African-American" is used. Given the lack of any evidence whereby Mr. Cornwell seeks to assert his identity as an American, and I am aware of none, I'm for leaving it as English; his birth Nationality. FraterNLST (talk) 04:14, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
Could I ask whether his nationality should be put as British rather than English as all of the above evidence used to assert the latter would point towards British i.e. 'Britain's' writer, an OBE and his nationality which is equally British as it is English. Do we have any evidence of him saying he's English or merely accepting and not rejecting references to him being 'British'? 2.126.252.17 (talk) 22:38, 8 November 2011
His citizenship is American, where he owns three homes, so I added that to the infobox. It would seem to make more sense to say British, American in that entry, as England does not issue passports, so I made that change as well. The 2011 Telegraph article seems to say Cornwell retained his British passport, but there is a typo in that part of the article (mentioning that he and his wife travel to London twice a year) so nothing quotable. Perhaps another article has a clear quote, no typos involved, about his British passport? --Prairieplant (talk) 21:39, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
