Character section is confusing
editI came here with no idea who Bernard Quatermass is, and I still don't know. The "Character" section seems to be trying to present things in chronological order, which is probably not a good choice. Leading the character description with "Little is revealed of Quatermass's early life during the course of the films" is unhelpful to say the least, unless the character's mysterious nature is truly important, in which case we should say so explicitly.
Let me present, by way of counterexample, the excellent opening paragraph from Sherlock Holmes:
Sherlock Holmes is a fictional detective created by Scottish author and physician Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The fantastic London-based "consulting detective", Holmes is famous for his astute logical reasoning, his ability to take almost any disguise, and his use of forensic science skills to solve difficult cases.
Can we work toward crafting a similar description for Quatermass? --Doradus (talk) 11:40, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
- What's wrong with ...
Quatermass is an intelligent and highly moral British scientist, who continually finds himself confronting sinister alien forces that threaten to destroy humanity. In the initial three serials he is a pioneer of the British space programme, heading up the British Experimental Rocket Group.
...which is already in the lead? 86.24.51.29 (talk) 08:59, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
- Ah, that's quite good! What's wrong with it is only that it's buried in the middle of the lede. I'll make it more prominent. --Doradus (talk) 19:18, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

Trivial and also featured article?
editIt would appear that the article's status as a featured article stated in the header for this page and the tag that the article contains trivial information are contradictory so I'm removing the trivial tag.Chuangzu (talk) 14:28, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
May I suggest my fansite, "Ringstone Round", is added to the links?
editIt's quite extensive: http://kristian.anapnea.net/quatermass/

Reinsertion of John Mills image
editAs I see, Latyelcop, you reinserted the non-free John Mills image in this article and Quatermass (TV serial). Using FFD discussion about other images (FFD 1, FFD 2, FFD 3), as I figured, all non-free images of various actors may not comply with WP:NFCC#3a and WP:NFCC#8. I don't see a point of using a Mills image in the character article unless it's to display his appearance in the series? Mills appeared in only one TV serial. Honestly, I thought the screenshot is more suitable in only the actor article. Furthermore, the Mills image doesn't add much understanding about the TV serial either. Other actor images were removed from articles about respective works the actors appeared in. --George Ho (talk) 07:12, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
FAR?
editLiterally the worst FA article so far. Poor formatted references, unsourced statements, the use unreliable sources, and lacking of reception section. 🥒Greenish Pickle!🥒 (🔔) 06:20, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
