Internet

The article claims that integrated services and differentiated services are available on the internet. To my knowledge neither is available. differentiated services is available on some newer private networks. --Kvng (talk) 19:24, 22 September 2010 (UTC)

This is to my knowledge one of the most crucial points in the discussion on Net Neutrality. AFAIK the internet is not neutral anymore, because many triple play services enjoy QoS. I don´t have a valid source for this though. --213.61.29.18 (talk) 11:46, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

I tried to rewrite the text, and removed the {{Dubious}} template. I don't get the neutraliticy issue, you don't pay the same amount of money to the triple-play service providers. (The triple play QoS are typically based on Ethernet VLAN rather than IP QoS mechanisms.)Mange01 (talk) 09:41, 27 July 2011 (UTC)

1. Classic Internet is pure best effort
2. There are services (e.g. Akamai Technologies, Limelight Networks) allow one to bypass the classic Internet but you're still on a best effort basis there competing with other users of those services.
3. ISPs may differentiate services at the edges of the Internet
4. Networks without QoS capability or without QoS configured are best effort
5. IntServ is only currently used on experimental or niche basis
6. DiffServ is not deployed on anything larger than a campus network

This article is not properly structured and it is not fulfilling the wikipedia rules and regulations. Use in service delivery (non-IT use)

The term best-effort delivery is also used in a similar scenario in service delivery management, perhaps this could be added in a paragraph or included elsewhere? What are your thoughts? Jurryaany (talk) 18:38, 23 March 2019 (UTC)
