GAN

edit

I am nominating this article for Good status. One concern of my own: I am unable to find credits for "My Love" (does Allmusic no longer display writing credits for songs?). The Composition section is not too long, but I figure readers can go to articles for individuals albums or tracks for additional information. I am happy to address concerns should any arise during the GAN process. --Another Believer (Talk) 02:05, 2 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Dead link replaced. The Internet can be so ephemeral sometimes... --Another Believer (Talk) 18:56, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
Lead / Infobox
  • is the first greatest hits album (seventh overall) --> It is her first greatest hits album, but it's her seventh overall greatest hits album? Overall is unneeded.
Done. Now reads: "...is the first greatest hits album (seventh album overall)..."; I kept "overall" but added album. I think this corrects the disambiguation, as this album is her first greatest hits album, but seventh album overall. Please let me know if this needs additional attention. --Another Believer (Talk) 18:31, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • The compilation includes tracks from four of Sia's previous studio albums: Healing Is Difficult (2002), Colour the Small One (2004), Some People Have Real Problems (2008) and We Are Born (2010); also included are two tracks featuring Sia as a guest vocalist ("Destiny" by Zero 7 and "Titanium" by David Guetta), "My Love" from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse film soundtrack, plus a remixed version of "Buttons" by Brazilian rock band CSS. --> Separate into two sentences. This one is far too long.
Done. --Another Believer (Talk) 18:31, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Don't see a need for the second paragraph, as it is rather short.
Done. --Another Believer (Talk) 18:31, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Is it a compilation album or a greatest hits? The infobox says compilation album, but the lead says greatest hits.
Done. Greatest hits, now specified in the infobox (I did not know there was a greatest hits parameter for the infobox). --Another Believer (Talk) 18:31, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
Background and promotion
  • Can the information of her claiming to retire be expanded on? Was it true or not? I noticed that "announced" wasn't used.
Hard to tell. Can update in the future, but her announcement occurred just a few months ago... not much of an update to provide in the mean time. --Another Believer (Talk) 19:01, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
Composition
  • Best Of... contains eighteen tracks spanning fifteen years of music from Sia's solo career and her work with Zero 7 and other artists --> A bit awkward to read.
Better? --Another Believer (Talk) 18:31, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • This section really doesn't focus on composition of any of the songs. Wouldn't content be a more accurate title?
Done. --Another Believer (Talk) 18:31, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
Reception
  • Looks pretty good to me. There is one red link though.
I am not sure if this publication is deserving of an article or not. I do believe the publication appears on a disambiguation page, which is why I included a red link. I do not wish to construct an article for the publication, but I am happy to remove the red link if preferred. --Another Believer (Talk) 18:24, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
I think it's best to either remove the red link, or just link it to Rave magazine. A red link doesn't really assist the reader in any way. Statυs (talk) 19:01, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
Red link removed. --Another Believer (Talk) 19:05, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
Track listing
  • I know this isn't required, but how about using the track listing template?
Done. --Another Believer (Talk) 18:45, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
Charts
  • before falling off the chart --> Meaning that it no longer appeared at any position on the chart? How about using the word "exit" instead?
Done. --Another Believer (Talk) 18:24, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
See also
  • Per WP:SEEALSO, "As a general rule the "See also" section should not repeat links which appear in the article's body or its navigation boxes."
I don't believe any of the links in the see also section appear in the article or the navbox. If so, please specify. --Another Believer (Talk) 18:20, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for taking time to offer a review.   Doing... --Another Believer (Talk) 18:19, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

You are most welcome! Once more information is added about the supposed retirement (if there is more, that is) the article is good to go! Great work! Statυs (talk) 19:01, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
You seemed to have replied to that comment at the exact time I was responding to the other comments, haha. On that note, everything looks good. I am passing the article.   Statυs (talk) 19:03, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, just experienced a few edit conflicts there. Much appreciated! --Another Believer (Talk) 19:03, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
