CDP
editRestoring the article as the community is recognized as a Census-designated place by the folks at GNIS. Vsmith (talk) 17:02, 16 January 2024 (UTC) @Vsmith:. GNIS is generally not considered too reliable.
- If indeed it is a CDP, there should be other references stating so. Is it that new? Djflem (talk) 12:39, 17 January 2024 (UTC)
- List of census-designated places in Indiana
Found this. Do you have more?
- https://tigerweb.geo.census.gov/tigerwebmain/Files/acs23/tigerweb_acs23_cdp_in.html reliable ref
- https://indiana.hometownlocator.com/in/bartholomew/bethel-village.cfm unreliable ref
- https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/GOVPUB-C3-PURL-gpo36473/pdf/GOVPUB-C3-PURL-gpo36473.pdf reliable ref: does not appear to be CDP in 2010

- Even if the community is no longer an "active" CDP, the article is still valid as historically the community existed. Vsmith (talk) 14:56, 17 January 2024 (UTC)
- Plus the community is shown on the Columbus, Indiana 7.5 Minute Topographic Quadrangle. Vsmith (talk) 15:01, 17 January 2024 (UTC)
- Then you'll need to come up with some references to back the claim that is it is a historical community, which would require some more work on your part. I'd certainly start with determining its CPD status in 2024 and checking any newspaper archives. Good luck. Djflem (talk) 15:06, 17 January 2024 (UTC)
- No, you need to provide evidence that it did not exist (CDP or not). The GNIS data and the USGS topo prove that it existed. And it along with thousands of similar small communities deserve recognition. Vsmith (talk) 15:55, 17 January 2024 (UTC)
- I don't have to do anything, and now likely won't, seeing your above post. You want to write the article? Go ahead and do so following standard procedure: provide veriable information using reliable sources that are properly cited.Djflem (talk) 17:21, 17 January 2024 (UTC)
