Citations?
editI added info about a defunct Texas town named for her, with a good citation. Unfortunately, it's the only specific citation in the whole piece. There was a "resources" section and I had to add a "references" section to make the footnote come up in the right place. However, they should be combined and the unspecified "resources," including the Nutall Encyclopedia, should be made into specific citations. I hope the next editor to work on this article is able to address this problem. -- Lisasmall 04:26, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
Further Information
editThe German WP article is a treasure of further information. I do not suggest you copy it, but you could provide a link there; some of your readers may have at least some reading knowledge of the language, and there are more pictures. Apparently there even exist a BvA society, editing a yearbook etc - such things may interest readers, because it is a sign of perceived importance and appreciation, isn't it?

Name
editHer first name "Elisabeth" was used in family circles in a familiar colloquial variant form "Elisabettina", and then a short form of that: hence she came to refer to herself as "Bettine" (yes, with "-e") and that is also mainly used in modern scholarly literature when she appears.147.142.186.54 19:22, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
Family Home
edit...and a last one for you from me: I just found that the family home of the "Baron B." aristocratic clan still exists today (and they sell there own wine there...). They make explicit reference to illustrious visitors such as Goethe on there homepage which you may find (with pictures) under " www.brentano.de " [[1]] .

Goethe
editShe is indeed known to have falsified her large book of correspondence "with Goethe", but I see that this article still claims that she and Goethe were close friends. Frankly, I now consider that even the claim that they were slightly acquainted with each other would require some evidence, but we still get none for this rather stronger assertion Schissel | Sound the Note! 01:58, 10 June 2016 (UTC)
The same source does quote some an authentic letter from Goethe to Beethoven mentioning Ms Brentano, dated June 25 1811 (Carlsbad), so hrm- never mind- that's a start though more would be better Schissel | Sound the Note! 00:53, 14 June 2016 (UTC) Schissel | Sound the Note! 00:53, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
