Powers

edit

Can we get a list of Bibleman's powers, and so forth done in here? I mean, other superheroes have lists of powers and a complete origin story. Also, his strengths and weaknesses. Like if you throw Holy Water on him will it revive him? What happens if Bibleman is held upside down and all of his crosses go upside down and invoke satan? This wiki entry needs a lot more data to come up to super hero standards please fix. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.69.231.116 (talk) 23:19, 25 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I thought that the inverted cross invoked St. Peter. 24.47.154.230 (talk) 04:14, 18 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Serious point about this article, rahter than its subject

edit

I have removed the "Controversy" section, which read as follows:

Some have criticized the show for how it delivers its messages, saying, for example, that the show is unnecessarily violent and teaches children that it is all right to kill people who don't share their faith, as the villains are often graphically melted or blown up. As noted, some also feel that the show, in the Wacky Protestor, tries to teach its audience that free thought or not maintaining the status quo is sinful. Some also claim that the villains are portrayed as effeminate to indoctrinate children to hate homosexuals.

Due to the fact that no one seems to care about this show enough to actually criticise it. At least, no one I could find. If anyone can find some sources, go ahead and restore it. --Lenin and McCarthy | (Complain here) 13:06, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:WillieAames3.jpg

edit

Image:WillieAames3.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

who's editing this?

edit

I put a perfectly respectable (not to mention disinterested) update to this page which simply listed Bibleman's strengths and weaknesses with reference to a very popular tv show in the UK. Every sentence was perfectly referenced - Sorry Mr Phantom undo-er - I'm un-un-doing you. Happy if a mod wishes to step in here :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.217.173.136 (talk) 22:38, 21 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

  1. New threads go at the bottom
  2. There is nothing "Phantom" about my reverts -- they're listed in the edit history
  3. Even taking the lax assumption that they were sourced to the show itself (and only one part of it made any mention of a specific episode), it is WP:Synthesis interpretation of a primary source, and so impermissible
  4. The language employed was dreadfully informal and unencyclopaedic.

Excessive, unsourced WP:IINFO lists moved from article

edit

The lists in this article are excessively long, and wholly unsourced, so I'm moving them here.

Major characters

edit

{{Cleanup-laundry|section|date=October 2009}}<!-- 25 "Major Characters"? This needs pruning -- particularly as it has no source other than the series itself -->

Heroes

edit
  • Miles Peterson/Bibleman: A wealthy businessman who found purpose when he found a Bible in the rain and saw the power of God. Becomes Bibleman by donning a high-tech suit of armor based on the book of Ephesians, he also wields a lightsaber like sword (representing the Sword of the Spirit). Played by Willie Aames.
  • Coats: A soldier/inventor. Bibleman's original sidekick. Played by Marc Wayne.
  • Cypher: The brains of the team, he joined after Coats left. His real name is KT (short for Kerry Turner). Played by Brady Williams.
  • Biblegirl: A struggling actress who joins the team after she helps in a battle with Luxor. Her real name is Lia Martinez, but they stopped calling her that when she was replaced by another actress in the episode Jesus Our Savior. Originally played by Tracy Henao, Biblegirl was later replaced by Heather Hazelwood McSmith (only a tongue-in-cheek joke is given to explain the change; "I feel like a whole different person."). In the episode Crushing The Conspiracy Of The Cheater, she was referred to as "Lia" again since the heroes now had name tags.
  • Josh Carpenter/Bibleman: The new Bibleman, takes over when Miles retires in A Fight For Faith. The new Bibleman is played by Robert T. Schlipp.
  • Mel/Melody O'Shea: A new superhero who joined the Bible Adventure Team in Terminating the Toxic Tonic of Disrespect. Played by Lindsay Lewis
  • U.N.I.C.E.: Universal Networking Intelligence Computing Entity. Bibleman's supercomputer. She was voiced by Maylo Upton and later Lisa Kent.

Villains

edit
  • Luxor Spawndroth: Bibleman's archenemy. He adopts numerous guises representing various sins (Shadow of Doubt, Master of Misery, Dr. Fear, El Furioso, and the Prince of Pride). Often, they poke fun at the fact that they are all the same actor. Played by Brian Lemmons.
  • Ludicrous: Luxor's annoying sidekick. Played by several different actors.
  • Andy & Anthony Stonecrop: Brothers who influence kids to rebel against God.
  • Primordious Drool/Wacky Protestor/Rotten Guy:

As Primordious, he made a plan to make people to rely on Bibleman rather than God so he could destroy Christians' faith. As Wacky Protestor, he's a nerdy villain who uses technology to fight Bibleman and influence kids into rebellion and faithlessness. His powers are shooting energy bolts made out of hybrid chemicals. He was briefly known as Rotten Guy (pronounced Ro-Ton-Gee) in Fight for Faith. He is played by Jef Scott.

  • Rapscallion P. Sinister: The villain of the A Fight For Faith live show. He is hired by the Wacky Protestor and, after the Protestor is sealed into a dimension of his own making for eternity, Sinister fights Bibleman himself. He is played by Kevin McSmith
  • L.U.C.I.: Link to Underhanded Computer Influences. The villains' supercomputer. Maylo Upton and Lisa Kent, the voice actors for UNICE voiced her.
  • Dr. Decepto: Bibleman's first ever adversary. This character only appears in a brief flashback where he traps Bibleman in a dungeon, but Bibleman escapes and traps him instead.
  • Fibbler: A yellow skinned villain who influences kids to lie to get out of trouble.
  • Madame Glitz: An evil woman whose bodyguard is a huge thug.
  • Gossip Queen: Played by Maylo Upton: a talkative villain who fires beams of bitterness from her hands. Her assistants are Loose Lips and Blabber Mouth.
  • Professor E. Meredith Snortinskoff: A green-skinned mad scientist who's in charge of Snortinskoff Industries and makes kids disrespect their authorities. His henchman is Stench. This mad scientist is played by Steven Sandsford.
  • 2Kul 4Skul: A gray-skinned villain who devised a plan to establish a TV station with the call letters WBIG (which stand for What's Bad is Good) to block the gospel from reaching the kids. He is played by Jeff Durham.
  • I.M. Wonderful: A vain woman who wears a gold mask and a cape. She was played by two actors, which one of them is Lisa Kent.
  • Cheater: The Cheater is a villain who influences kids to cheat. His tools are his belittler and his flying cards. He is played Peter Vann.
  • Slacker: This senior villain makes kids lazy with his Lazers of Laziness. He carries a staff and goons to support him in battle. He is played by Josh Childs.
  • Super Pro Gamemaster 2: a cyborg who could control machines. He appeared in Lambasting the Legions of Laziness and made two flashbacks in the next two episodes. He is played by Henry Haggard.
  • Super Pro Gamemaster 3: This robotic leader of the Evildoers Club was Super Pro Gamemaster 2's successor. He has powers similar to his predecessor and invented the videogame, "Big Bad Bully". He is played by Eric Pasto-Crosby.
  • Baron Ulysses Tantamont von Braggart: A sheriff-like pig villain with a golden head cap who lives in a castle. His weapons are his electric staff that he battles Bibleman with, and his electric chair that he tries to shoot Bibleman and Cypher with.
  • The Commandant of Confusion: A grey skinned heavyweight villain who is very technical and has an evil sidekick named Chaos who is dressed up in a black and red jumpsuit.

This talk page has been quiet for a while so I went ahead and made changes first. I was attempting to address the issues raised on the tag placed at the top of the article. I think I addressed enough of it to remove the tag. If someone disagrees please say so. Elmmapleoakpine (talk) 23:47, 9 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
