Significance
editWhat has been written about the BSA, other than by itself or its members or affiliates? -- Hoary (talk) 00:47, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Hoary
- I'm seeing 1.4k hits on newspapers.com. Most of those will be duplicates, but that's the easiest route to notability.

- Poking around a bit more (and stashing these here so I can find them later):
- Library Politics and the Organization of the Bibliographical Society of America (Journal of Library History)
- There's a cite to J. M. Edelstein's article on the BSA in the 1969 edition of the Encyclopedia of Library and Information Science, vol. 2 pages 384-388. That cite comes from Bibliographical History as a Field of Study . Can confirm it exists via Google Books, but pages are missing.

Sources
editWhat are the sources for the list of presidents, 1980–present? -- Hoary (talk) 00:47, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Hoary The last handful are from the masthead of the individual issues. Unfortunately, JSTOR only started capturing that information recently. The rest are a mismash of random bios, address by the current president to the society, papers given by the outgoing president, etc. All of them are perfectly serviceable, but I'm still holding out hope for a single, citable list. If that doesn't show up, I'll convert the article to a reflist and start filling in the banks.

Notes on the rewrite
editThere is much that is interesting and encyclopedic to be said about the BSA, but nearly all of that information exists in publications of the BSA, or, in the case of the encyclopedia entries, lightly-reworked versions of that material. I don't know if this would pass WP:NOTABILITY, but if it did, the sources (in my opinion) don't warrant a larger article. Elizabeth Shiprock (talk) 07:01, 11 March 2023 (UTC)
