can this be true? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Totnesmartin (talk • contribs) 17:27, 26 February 2007 (UTC).
- i've no idea who he is, but this is apparently true. Barbara Osgood 18:37, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
- Definetly true. Although I've never met him myself (I was before unfamiliar with the band) I know of two people who have met him, and have seen a photo as proof! Tomcollins15 21:35, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
Pronunciation
editIt would be good to explain how the town's name is pronounced. 99.192.60.101 (talk) 01:56, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
Midnight run
editThe article states "A New Year's Eve tradition was to try to run across the Long Bridge in the time it takes for the bells at nearby St. Mary's church to chime midnight." The bridge looks long indeed, too long to be run within the time of tolling. Could we have a modification to something like this: "A New Year's Eve tradition was to try to run across the Long Bridge (x meters) in the time it takes for the bells at nearby St. Mary's church to chime midnight (about x seconds.)"
Also the article uses the past tense. Is a race still held? WikiParker (talk) 14:22, 1 January 2011 (UTC)
I remember the Bridge race taking place annually during regetta week in early September (this was in the 1950s & 60s). In those days there were no special celebrations at New Year. Am I correct? I may have a Regetta programme from the time to verify this. Winwaloe (talk) 22:20, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

This council folded in 2008, i know because i was the last chairperson. Thought you might want to remove this from the wiki page 86.160.172.61 (talk) 12:04, 17 February 2011 (UTC)

city?
editSince when has Bideford been a city? I think the description heading below the name at the top of the page needs editing! 90.255.10.154 (talk) 22:13, 13 February 2021 (UTC)
