Relevance.
edit- I added Bill Zeller's death to the January 2011 deaths page because his suicide note is making the rounds. It's a heart-breaking story of how being repeatedly raped as a child affected his life, and that story is being covered in the mass media. That's the reason I thought it was relevant to the deaths page. Someone else then created this page on Zeller himself. (They also deleted my reference to his suicide note on the deaths page.) I don't have a strong opinion on what pages exist in what form, but I thought the suicide note itself was noteworthy. SkyDot (talk) 17:25, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- Just to clarify, I created the page on Zeller, but didn't delete anything. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marckossa (talk • contribs) 08:39, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

Shouldn't we at least link to his suicide note?
editThe fact that the first link on this page leads to an obituary with a heavy religious tone that was quite obviously written by a member of the very family and church that destroyed him and that he profoundly hated as a result is honestly insulting to his memory. Meanwhile, there is no direct link to his suicide note which is a document of extreme relevance. I suggest this gets added to the page, as well as a section covering the main points of the letter so that the reader is correctly informed of who this person was, what happened to him and who did it to him. I would be open to contribute to this section. Simply linking to news articles covering the matter in surface is nowhere near enough in my opinion. In its current state, this page is pretty much glossing over the fact that his family and their church are very directly responsible for his death (it isn't clearly stated that they are to blame for his rape but anyone with two brain cells can connect the dots by reading between the lines), and tried to make the letter disappear from the web to cover up for their actions (I unfortunately lost the source for that but I definitely read it somewhere and he himself warns of that very possibility in his letter).
Here are two sources for the letter : https://gizmodo.com/the-agonizing-last-words-of-programmer-bill-zeller-5726667 http://www.invisiblechildren.org/2019/12/08/child-sex-abuse-the-most-powerful-suicide-note-ever/
I am expecting more from Wikipedia on this. If we're going to cover facts, let's cover ALL the facts, including the dark ones. Child abuse is one of the biggest unspoken horrors of our society and we should not be covering for those who perform it out of fear of criticism. --85.218.19.157 (talk) 15:09, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
