Suggestions of criminal activity submitted as forum postings

edit

In this edit I removed two links to bahamasb2b.com which seem to be forum postings. They have a voting box next to them indicating they are submitted by users and are not edited material or the creation of a reporter. These posts describe alleged criminal activities at Rum Cay. This material would be OK if it came from a reliable source, in my opinion, but since named people are blamed for theft and destruction of property, we should not be keeping them per WP:BLP. There is a disclaimer at the bottom of each page, 'The views expressed on this site do not necessarily reflect the views of the BahamasB2B.com editorial staff.' Conflict of interest information

edit

There may be a close connection or conflict of interest by contributors to this article, so I am posting information as an FYI:

if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things in the article Billy Davis (Arizona politician), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you.–CaroleHenson (talk) 20:08, 22 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Cannot find a source

edit

I cannot find a source for the following:

  • Davis and others worked to have the Vietnam Veterans' Memorial installed at the Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza at the State Capitol in Phoenix, Arizona. General William Westmoreland attended the dedication on November 9, 1985. — I can find that Westmoreland was at the dedication, but I cannot find information about Davis working on the memorial. I searched the papers for 1983, 1984, and 1985 and well as the web.–CaroleHenson (talk) 06:05, 23 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Davis, with assistance from Mickey Mantle, lobbied for the construction of the Del Webb Memorial Hospital in Sun City West, Arizona. He also served on building committees. — I cannot find a source for Davis' involvement. I do find info about Mantle in connection with the hospital, but not Davis. Rep. James Ratliff is mentioned here. At that time, it was called Sun City West hospital.–CaroleHenson (talk) 06:23, 23 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • The President of the Arizona Senate sent Senator Davis on a goodwill mission to the Republic of China, Taiwan, where he met with members of the government, including Governor Chuang-Huan Chiu Taiwan Provincial Government, Republic of China. — I cannot find anything at all on this.–CaroleHenson (talk) 06:28, 23 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Charity: His foundation, the Billy Davis Family Foundation, donated $5 million for education.<ref name=Rapid>[http://www.rapidpressrelease.com/press-release/Education/005244.asp Former State Senator Donates Five Million Dollars to Education], Billy Davis Family Foundation press release, February 13, 2008</ref>{{better source|date=July 2017}} — I tried searching many different ways... cannot find anything by the press release, like from this query–CaroleHenson (talk) 06:36, 23 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
I also cannot find sources for his date and place of birth, current town, marriage date and place, or Navy info. I do have a source, though, that says his wife is Billie. His web page shows he went to Hoyle-Anderson College. I tried looking for information about that... and came up with a Bill Davis that went to Anderson High School (near the college in Indiana) about that time, but I think is one year younger.
Since there's hardly anything about him, does this pass notability guidelines?–CaroleHenson (talk) 07:30, 23 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
There's a little basic info here - wife Billie, town he lives in, one of five Republican candidates for the District 11 U.S. House of Representatives seat in Georgia in 2016 –CaroleHenson (talk) 07:51, 23 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
Well since he served on the Arizona senate he passes WP:POLITICIAN, but that's really about it from a notability perspective it seems. Canterbury Tail talk 11:38, 23 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
