Merge

edit

Merge both BlackBerry Curve articles here, and create one article. The phone was just an upgraded model, and doesn't need its own article. We have automobiles that have been on the road for decades and they have one article, and they have changed quite a bit from generation to generation, this phone has been around for a few years and hasn't drastically changed enough for each model to have its own article. Absolute merge. It's ridiculous to have separate articles. With the quality of the comment in the "dont merge" [sic] section, I don't believe that vote even counts. Timneu22 (talk) 20:25, 23 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Merge. I understand that they're different devices, but until all of these are long enough to warrant a separate page, they can make do on the same page.--Attitude2000 (talk) 23:22, 28 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Agree. They are under Blackberry curve series, different models.Bu.Q (talk) 09:41, 9 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Merge. There's not really enough content in some of these articles to justify being individual articles. That, and merging the articles will help improve their overall quality, to a point where in the future they can be split again.--Topperfalkon (talk) 17:59, 4 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Merge It does seem logical to have all these articles in one place Notjamesbond (talk) 17:04, 1 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Merge. All just different models of the same series.Jnorton7558 (talk) 12:53, 5 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Bit ridiculous to have separate articles when they are nearly the same. iPhones don't have separate pages, do they? Why should BlackBerry? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jnorton7558 (talkcontribs)

Merge completed as per this talk page, and appropriate redirects placed. Tiggerjay (talk) 03:25, 16 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup

edit

After the merge, the way the data is presented for each unit is pretty cluttered. Using something like the comparison page on iPhone would probably be best. Tiggerjay (talk) 03:31, 16 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

I have started working on a table in my sandbox that if others want to help on they are free to. I'm trying to work on it during random down times at work. I will post here when I feel like I'm done and ready to possibly bring it into the article. --Jnorton7558 (talk) 08:55, 17 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
That looks like a great start! I'll take a look and contribute over there. I think it will result in a significant cleanup to the article, while it presents information currently, it really isn't usable. Tiggerjay (talk) 06:46, 20 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
I think it looks good to introduce into the mainspace, any comments? Tiggerjay (talk) 23:37, 22 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Looked good to me and I am updating it now to the page as we speak. If I removed too many other things from the page feel free to re-add them. --Jnorton7558 (talk) 08:34, 23 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Looks great Jnorton! Thanks for the work. There is still more work do be done, but this really helps out and makes it more concise. Tiggerjay (talk) 03:17, 24 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
I know I'm posting to an old topic, but does anyone object to me trying to clean things up here? (Refer to BlackBerry Bold if you want to see basically how I'm going to do things) Praxlus (talk) 06:40, 18 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your work on the Bold page. If I had to object to something, it would be your organization of the phone models under BB OS versions. I don't think it is best to sort phones under the OS version with which they were originally released since many of the phones got upgrades to the next version. Do the phones need to be sorted under some higher class (if so, then I suggest year of release)? The exception is OS7, which older phones are not upgradeable to and current OS7 phones will not be upgradeable from OS7 to BB10. In this case it makes sense to sort those phones under OS7, but it isn't necessary---it could be done under release year. Sbliman (talk) 11:00, 18 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
I did them under the original OS because that would mean that should an older phone get an update, it wouldn't need everything to be shuffled around. Either way, I'm open to suggestions as long as it's clearer then the old jumbled mess. Praxlus (talk) 20:41, 18 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Chart Update

edit

Thanks TTTT and Andros for fixing that up. I'll work on it a bit more tomorrow and add more detail on the detailed part of each phone. You guys are fantastic! ^.^ Praxlus (talk) 07:44, 24 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
